I love this. Not (just) because of the awesome shout-out I get, but because the idea that happiness is what service providers want you to feel can be applied to any sector. I recently started a new Tumblr (http://acuppaday.tumblr.com/) because I felt the need to express how different coffee experiences in different cafes made me feel. Baristas often live in bubbles, where they produce the product for themselves, or their colleagues. This phenomenon leads to the “hipster barista with attitude” paradigm because they’ve lost sight of the bigger picture. Happiness is what you’re serving, and it’s created by much more than the liquid in the cup. It doesn’t matter how good the coffee is if you’re an asshole when you serve it.
